Fernando shares his story about being a construction laborer.
He says he got into this job because his father, who has been in the field for 20 years, put in a good word in for him. But that doesn't mean Fernando has an easy ride. He shares with us the different type of manual labor he doing and says that although he plans to go to school this job is giving him valuable hands-on experience. He also gives advice to those thinking of getting into the construction as a laborer.

Helpers assist construction craftworkers, such as electricians and carpenters, with a variety of basic tasks. They may carry tools and materials or help set up equipment. For example, many helpers work with cement masons to move and set forms. Many other helpers assist with taking apart equipment, cleaning up sites, and disposing of waste, as well as helping with any other needs of craftworkers.
