Ken describes his work as a Sales Associate at an appliance store, and shares his knowledge from his many years in the business. Retail can be very tough, and it's not for everyone. The key is to find a small place, such as his store, that values its employees, is willing to train and pay them well.
Retail sales workers include both those who sell retail merchandise and products, such as clothing, furniture, and automobiles, (called retail salespersons) and those who sell spare and replacement parts and equipment, especially car parts, (called parts salespersons). Both groups help customers find the products they want and process customers' payments.
Moderate on-the-job training can be expected.
