Animal care and service workers care for the needs of animals. They feed, water, groom, bathe, and exercise pets and other nonfarm animals. Job tasks vary by position and place of work.
Short-term on-the-job training
Although not required, certifications available in many of these occupations may help workers establish their credentials and enhance their skills. For many caretaker positions, it helps to have experience working with animals.
